How the Gallardo and the Huracán differ

The Huracán replaced the Gallardo in 2014 as Lamborghini's V10 supercar. The Gallardo (2003–2013) was Lamborghini's first V10 car and, with more than 14,000 built, its best-selling model of the time. It started with a 5.0-litre V10 of 500 PS, later 520 PS, and from 2008 the LP 560-4 had a 5.2-litre direct-injection V10 with 560 PS. Every Huracán has a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10: 610 PS in the first LP 610-4, 640 PS from the Performante (2017) and the EVO (2019).

The gearboxes differ: a Gallardo came with a six-speed manual with an open gate or the e-gear automated manual with a single clutch, every Huracán with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Both were built with all-wheel drive and in rear-wheel-drive versions, such as the Gallardo LP 550-2 and the Huracán LP 580-2, STO and Tecnica. And both are related to the Audi R8: the Gallardo to the first generation, the Huracán to the second.
