About the Ferrari F12

The F12berlinetta replaced the 599 as Ferrari's front-engined V12 berlinetta and was unveiled at the Geneva motor show in 2012. Its naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V12 has 740 PS and 690 Nm, and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox drives the rear wheels. Ferrari quoted 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h.

Aerodynamic details are the Aero Bridge, an air channel from the bonnet along the flanks, and Active Brake Cooling ducts that open only when the brakes are hot. The F12tdf of October 2015, named after the Tour de France automobile race, has 780 PS; 799 were built. The F60 America (10 cars) and the F12 TRS (2) are rarities. The 812 Superfast replaced the F12 in early 2017.

What to check when buying a Ferrari F12

  • Check whether it is an F12berlinetta or one of the 799 F12tdfs (from October 2015, 780 PS).
  • Ask for the complete service history at a Ferrari dealer or a known specialist.
  • Carbon-ceramic brakes are standard; check the discs, as a set of new discs is very expensive.
