About the Ferrari Portofino

The Portofino (2017–2023) replaced the California T as Ferrari's entry-level convertible: a 2+2 with a folding hard top, unveiled in the village of Portofino in September 2017. It is 80 kg lighter than its predecessor. Its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 makes 600 PS and 760 Nm, through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox; Ferrari quoted 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and 320 km/h.

The Portofino M (from 2020) has 620 PS and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. A convertible version of the Roma, unveiled in 2023, replaced the Portofino.

What to check when buying a Ferrari Portofino

  • Know the version: the Portofino M has 20 PS more and an eight-speed gearbox, and is priced higher.
  • Ferrari's seven-year Genuine Maintenance programme covers scheduled servicing and passes to the next owner; check how much of it is left.
  • Operate the folding hard top several times and check the seals.
  • Options make a real difference to value, so compare the specification and not only the price and mileage.
