About the McLaren GT

The GT is McLaren's grand tourer, revealed in May 2019 as the successor of the 570GT. It has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 620 PS and 630 Nm, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a carbon-fibre tub, the MonoCell II-T.

The GT was made for longer trips: there are 150 litres of luggage space under the bonnet and 420 litres under the glass tailgate. McLaren quotes 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 326 km/h.

In December 2023 McLaren presented the GTS, an update with 635 PS that replaced the GT.

What to check when buying a McLaren GT

  • Listings under "GT" from 2024 onwards are often the GTS. Check the model name and the power: 620 PS for the GT, 635 PS for the GTS.
  • Open and close the tailgate a few times, and check the seals and the struts.
  • Check the options: the electrochromic glass roof, the Bowers & Wilkins audio system and the nose lift add to the price.
  • Keep the 12-volt battery on a conditioner when the car stands still, and test all the electrics.
