The 612 Scaglietti replaced the 456 in 2004 as Ferrari's four-seat V12 grand tourer. Ken Okuyama at Pininfarina designed it, and its name honours the coachbuilder Sergio Scaglietti. It was Ferrari's second all-aluminium car, with a spaceframe developed together with Alcoa. Despite the name, the V12 displaces 5.7 litres (5,748 cc). It has 540 PS and 588 Nm, for 0–100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h.
Most cars have the six-speed F1A automated manual; only 199 were built with a manual gearbox. From 2006 Ferrari offered the HGT handling packages, the HGTC with carbon-ceramic brakes, and in 2007 the Sessanta, 60 cars for the company's 60th anniversary. In 2008 came the faster SuperFast F1 gearbox, an electrochromic glass roof and the One-to-One personalisation programme. Ferrari built 3,025 cars before the FF replaced it in 2011.
