About the Ferrari 575
The 575M Maranello replaced the 550 Maranello in 2002. It is a two-seat coupé with a front-mounted 5.7-litre V12 (5,748 cc) that has 515 PS and 588 Nm. Ferrari built 2,056 of them until 2006, when the 599 GTB Fiorano took over.
Buyers could choose a six-speed manual or the F1 gearbox, an automated manual with paddles. Only 246 cars were built with the manual. Ferrari later offered the GTC Handling package, shown as HGTC in listings: carbon-ceramic brakes, stiffer suspension, a louder exhaust and 19-inch wheels.
In 2005 came the 575 Superamerica, an open version with a glass roof that rotates 180 degrees. With 540 PS it is the most powerful 575; Ferrari built 559. It has its own page: Superamerica.
What to check when buying a Ferrari 575
- Check the gearbox. "F1" in a listing means the automated manual; cars with the six-speed manual are rare (246 of 2,056) and sought after.
- HGTC cars are rare as well. Ask for proof that the package was fitted at the factory.
- Ask whether the car has Ferrari Classiche certification, which confirms that the main parts are original.
- Ask for the full service history.
